More Thoughts on FOG, Hoovers and No Contact When Ending a Relationship with a Narcissist, Borderline, Histrionic and/or Sociopath
There’s a new article on www.shrink4men.com that discusses the effects of FOG (fear, obligation, guilt) and Hoovers in the context of abusive relationships with Borderlines, Histrionics, Narcissists and Sociopaths and asserts that the best way to combat their manipulations is to maintain a strict No Contact policy with one’s abusive ex. No Contact (or minimal contact) is also the best way to begin the healing process.

I’ve been gone since October 2, 2012. So far the soon to be ex has employed 4 distinctly different Hoovers: FOG, Concern, Deluxe and Happy Ending; not in that order but clearly she has tried them. I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to write your blog and share this information with us so we know what to look for. This was my fifth attempt to leave and I have no intentions of returning; my eyes are wide open now. thank you Dr. Tara!! From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Divorce paperwork has already been filed and I have regained control of my life. It’s a mess, the remnants of it, but it’s now mine to control and clean up, and I’m excited with the possibilities! Have I thanked you yet? :)
