Trauma Bonds: Emotional Intensity vs. Emotional Intimacy [Video]

Confusing the emotional intensity of love bombing for emotional intimacy is a mistake many of my clients make. They confuse the instantaneous, over-the-top flattery, attention, physical affection and/or sex for genuine emotion and intimacy. In reality, it’s a seduction trap. The most vulnerable are usually codependent adults who felt unloved, unwanted, less than or worthless as children due to having parents who were emotionally unavailable, mentally ill, personality disordered, addicts/alcoholics and generally dysfunctional.
